“Are You Leaving Money Behind On The Floor?” (We hope not…)

Over the years, the carpet industry has lost a lot of market share to hard surfaces such as Stone and Tile. Are you offering cleaning and maintenance programs for these surfaces? You can charge up to $3 per square foot to clean, seal, and polish Stone, Tile and Grout. There are few industries that have seen the incredible growth that tile and stone maintenance has seen in the last few years. Are you leaving this money behind every time you walk across the stone or tile floor to get to the carpet you came to clean? Your customers invested a lot of money in these floors. Learn how to help them maintain their investment.

Guest speaker Dan Humbert, a third generation Stone and Tile man, has been running a successful Tile and Stone Contracting Restoration business for over 28 years. Throughout his career he has earned the respect of others through his knowledge and willingness to share secrets of the trade. He works with CTI Pro’s Choice as an instructor and helps in the development of new products. Dan will give a Powerpoint presentation on: “Introduction to Man Made Tile, Stone and Grout”
You will learn:
•	What Man Made Tile is made of
•	What are the different kinds of Stones?
•	What Grout is made of

The Orange County/ Inland Empire Chapter of CFI had its Meeting on Thursday July 15th, at Foothill Vacuum & Janitorial. Foothill’s owner, Andy Evans hosted the meeting at his store and there were 27 in attendance. Foothill Vacuum & Janitorial is CFI’s newest Associate Member. Chemspec’s Noel Frank taught a cleaning steps class specific to the Chemspec product line. Chemspec’s Ann Bedwell helped coordinate and facilitate the meeting and also provided dinner for all present. Chemspec gave away free samples to those present and also raffled off a Chemspec Spotting Kit. The lucky winner was Javier Hernandez from Pacific Carpet Care. CFI also gained a new member that night. Scott Robinson from Rainbow International saw the great value that CFI brings to its membership and decided to get on board with us!

Chapter business was conducted regarding the upcoming Ronald McDonald Clean-up Day scheduled for Saturday, July 31st. Eight companies have committed to help that day. CTI Pro’s Choice has generously offered to supply cleaning chemicals that day as well as free spotting kits to every truck there that day. Chemspec’s Noel Frank also offered to help with chemicals that day. OC/Inland Director Jason Hensley has been working closely with the staff at Orange Ronald McDonald House to insure a smooth operation on the 31st.

There is going to be a storm water runoff workshop scheduled for Mid August. Environmental Resource Specialist, Jenna Voss is from the OC Public Works-OC Watersheds. She is going to be imparting information about new guidelines and laws regarding the dumping of waste water by those in the Carpet Cleaning industry, and how we can expect to be impacted by those new laws. This is a must- attend meeting for those of you who are concerned about your present or future waste dumping practices. The Workshop will be held at DKI/Restotech in Laguna Hills. Exact date and time will be forthcoming.

HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO PROMOTE OUR ASSOCIATION AND YOUR BUSINESS!!

We need several CFI Members to team up with SHAW CARPETS at the RHA Expo at the Cal Expo in Sacramento.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:
SHAW CARPETS will provide the prime booth space at the event. We will be demonstrating the resiliency and cleanability of their new Solution Dyed Nylon Carpet. During the demonstration CFI members will have various participants apply all sorts of condiments to the carpet and everything from Kool-Aid to bleach and more. The benefit of the Solution Dyed Nylon is that the color is in the yarn, not on it. The color will not fade or stain from the application of these staining agents.

We also need CFI members to provide a portable hot water extraction machine and inform the public of the importance of using a CFI member for their floor care needs.

As an added bonus you will be able to promote your business to all the property owners attending this all day event.

No charge to attend but you must be a current CFI Member

Date:
September 14th, 2010

Time:
8:00 am – 6:00 pm
